Waterberg Tourism is completely non-profit, seeking only to serve its members by competitively marketing the Waterberg area as an outstanding tourism destination, to local and international tourists. While these are dark days and times are difficult, like it or not we are still dependent on tourism.
Waterberg Tourism was started by the local community and is managed for the benefit of the community by community members. It will enhance the economic prosperity of the area and allow members to benefit from marketing that gives them easier access to economic value created by tourism developments in the area.
It is the vision of Waterberg Tourism that by marketing tourism to the area, we will be investing in the economic and environmental future of the area. Competitively marketing the Waterberg will help establish sustainable economic development, create more jobs, resulting in improved training and capacity building, and thus leading to a stable, and vibrant local economy. By marketing the area as a tourism destination, Waterberg Tourism will also be working towards conservation efforts of our precious natural resources by contributing to their viability and increased public awareness.
Because tourism is dependent on support functions there is much work going on behind the scenes to improve the appearance of the Waterberg by working with the authorities, community members as well as specialists in waste removal, better signage and making it a safer area for all. We are all too aware of our shortcomings and with your help aim to make the Waterberg leading tourist destination in South Africa!
To help tourism in the Waterberg:
- Share Waterberg Tourism’s Facebook and Instagram posts, as well as our website and member details with as many people as possible
- Attend and support Waterberg Tourism’s online webinars, videos, meetings, and training programs whenever you can. Just showing up to a meeting can do a lot to encourage other people to support our initiatives!
- If you can join up as a member, do so. If you can donate any funds, your time, or services, please do!
- Support our local businesses as far as you possibly can by buying local products, ordering food from local restaurants, and using the recreational and accommodation facilities in the Waterberg
- Explore the Waterberg – you would be surprised what is in your backyard!
- Tell everyone what you find in the Waterberg that is beautiful and enticing on your social media pages and when you speak to people one-on-one
- Keep up a positive attitude – things are very tough for all of us, but by supporting and encouraging one another in a positive manner, we can build our community’s fighting spirit and keep going!

Hoe Kan Waterberg Tourism Jou Help?
Waterberg Tourism is in geheel ‘n gemeenskaps organisasie, gedryf deur die motiveering om sy lede en die gemeenskap te dien, en nie deur profyt nie. Ons hoof mandaat is om die Waterberg kompiteered te bemark as ‘n uitmundende toerisme bestemming vir plasslike en internasionale toeriste. Terwyl ons huidge situasie donker en bedruk is, is die realiteit da tons steeds afhanklik van toerisme is as ‘n hoofstroom inkomste vir ons gemeenskap.
Waterberg Tourism is deur gemeenskapslede gestig, en word ook so deur die gemeenskap bestuur. Dit sal effektief bydra tot die ekonomiese groei en vooruitgang van die area, en ook lede toegang gee tot die ekonmiese voordele van die bemarking en werk wat Waterberg Tourism namens hulle doen.
Dit is ons visie dat deur die Waterberg as toerisme bestemming te bemark, ons in die ekonomiese en omgewings vooruitgang en toekoms van die area bou. Hierdeur help Waterberg Tourism volhoubare ekonomiese ontwikkeling en die skepping van meer werksgeleenthede, wat sal lei tot verbeterde opleidings geleenthede, die bou van ons gemeenskaps kapasiteit en infrastruktuur, en dus ‘n stabiele en voortvaarende plaaslike ekonomie.
Omdat toerisme afhankllik is van ‘n groot verskeidenheid ondersteunende aktiwiteite, is Waterberg Tourism besig met baie ander projekte agter die skerms om die toestand en aansienlikheid van die Waterberg te verbeter. Ons werk nou saam met verskeie besighede, individue asook die korrekte regerings structure op projekte soos vullis verwydering en herwinning, verbeterde padtekens en gemeenskaps veiligheid. Hierdie projekte is tot voordeel van die hele gemeenskap sowel as toeriste. Ons is baie bewus van moontlike tekortkominge wat al ons harde werk kan kniehalter, maar ons glo vas dat ons met jou hulp hulle kan oorbrug en die Waterberg die mees aanloklikste toerisme bestemming in Suid-Afrika gaan maak!
So wat kan jy doen om ons te help om toerisme in die Waterberg te bevorder?
- Deel Waterberg Tourism se Facebook en Instagram plasings, asook ons webblad plasing, eposte en enige van ons lede se bemarkings inisiatiewe;
- Neem deel aan Waterberg Tourism se webinars, kyk en deel ons videos, kom na ons vergaderings toe (oplyn en waneer ons weer bymekaar kan kom), en teken in op ons opleidings programme wat spesiaal ontwikkel is vir ons gemeenskap. Deur net op te daag vir ‘n vergadering kan ‘n groot impak om ander mense se deelname en ondersteuning he!
- As jy kan aansluit as ‘n lid, maak asseblief so. As jy ‘n geldelike donasie kan maak, van jou produkte of dienste kan bydra of selfs van jou tyd of vermoens en talente sal ons innig dankbaar wees.
- Ondersteun ons plaaslike besighede en verskaffers waar moontlik deur plaaslike produkte te koop, kos by plaaslike restaurant te bestel en die plaaslike akkommodasie en vermaaklikheids aantrekkings te ondersteun.
- Verken die Waterberg! Jy sal verbaas wees wat in jou afterplaas verskuuil is!
- Vertel almal van al die wonderlike dinge wat jy in die Waterberg gekry en gesien het, en wat self hulle kan kom ontdek. Gebruik al jou sosiale media kanale, en waneer jy persoonlik met mense praat.
- Bly positief! Dinge is moeilik vir ons almal op die oombllik maar deur mekaar te ondersteun en op te beur kan ons ons gemeenskap se gevegsgees bou en saam bo uitkom!
