Waterwood Lodge is a family-run operation and encourages guests to create lasting memories at our private, and exclusive lodge. Our 4000-hectare Private Game Reserve is situated in the Waterberg Biosphere, just outside Vaalwater on the Dorset road. Perfect for the discerning naturalist and the wildlife enthusiast, groups of friends, families, and couples who want to escape the city for a quality weekend to recharge in the magnificent peace and beauty of the Bushveld. Situated about 3 hours from Johannesburg and 2.5 hours from Pretoria, it’s the perfect place to recharge the body, mind, and soul.
Waterwood offers 4 diverse and fully self – catered units, fully equipped with everything you need to enjoy an amazing time in the Bush. Completely private, guests are surrounded by an abundance of birdlife, fauna and flora and wild game. In keeping with Waterwood Lodge’s Eco-Friendly policy, we strive to be off-grid as far as possible with solar and gas installations where possible as we believe: “Be kind to nature and it will be kind to you.”

Our amazing lodge manager, Obed, together with his wife Faith, provide incredible service to our guests and are readily available to ensure your time spent with us will be truly special and unforgettable. Although we offer self-catering facilities, Obed and Faith can arrange private candle-lit dinners in the Bush, set up surprise drinks at secluded sun-downer spots, or arrange memorable personalised experiences.
